Richardson’s sculpture and painting practice is a continual process of ‘making sense of.’ Working mainly with wood and metal casting, Richardson bends, exaggerates, and changes the material or form of an object. His access to global symbols of the home and public space is steadfastly personal. Steam-bent snooker cues, extended picture frames, and lucky sevens jest warmly and gesture openly, inviting a deeper resonance to be plucked within their audience.
