About Us
House of Bandits is a non-profit gallery by Sarabande Foundation, housing unique and limited-edition works by Sarabande artists-in-residence and alumni, uniting the best of art, fashion and jewellery.
Established in 2020, House of Bandits is the destination to discover and purchase London’s most exciting art and design. The name comes from Sarabandits, a phrase coined to describe the anarchic spirit of the foundation’s ground-breaking creatives.
100% of proceeds from all purchases directly support the Sarabande Foundation, its artists, and future generations of creatives.
Lee Alexander McQueen established Sarabande in 2006 with the ambition to support the most creatively fearless minds of the future. Sarabande is a registered charity dedicated to nurturing exceptional creative talent.
Today, the foundation is one of London’s leading cultural institutions, offering charitable support to creatives in three core ways: scholarships, a subsidised studio programme with bespoke mentoring, and a public programme of on-site events for the wider creative industries.
Our mission is to support the world’s most exciting boundary-pushing artists and intrepid creatives for future generations to enjoy, covet, collect and draw inspiration from. To date, Sarabande has supported over 300 artists from 42 different countries, with work placed in private and public collections internationally, including Hauser & Wirth, the Victoria & Albert Museum and the Saatchi Gallery.
'Breathing life into the darker dregs of January, all hail Sarabande’s ‘House of Bandits’ residency at Selfridges, a riotous takeover of London’s West End edifice'
'Gives the public a chance to witness the posthumous effect of McQueen’s creativity on subsequent generations and to own pieces by them'
'As soon as you step foot inside the historic space, you get the feeling of being welcomed in by a close community; everyone knows everyone; everyone vibes off the creative energies of everyone'
