We are quick to name what occupies space: a chair, a plant, a person. What is harder to name is what exists between them. The Shape of the Space Between (Us) takes this in-between as its material, giving form to what is usually left unarticulated.
The series consists of sixteen translucent resin sculptures; rather than representing individual figures, the sculptures ask whether relation itself might possess a material presence. The work reflects on how we are shaped by one another through proximity, care and rupture, and how what appears empty may in fact be the ground we share. The body is not in space; it is of it.
