In this work, the artist works with clay, chewing each individual form before turning them into wearable pins, all completely unique. The work playfully transforms something you might find beneath a school desk into an elevated artefact.
More broadly, Ella’s practice collages familiar imagery drawn from the British High Street and pop iconography. Often tongue-in-cheek, the work carries a sense of nostalgia, embodied in these gum pins.
