These earrings reflect Helena’s exploration of binding as both form and concept to hold memory and meaning. The pieces of jarina seed, also known as vegetable ivory or tagua, an Amazonian material harvested without cutting down the palm. Brazilian emerald is set between the two forms, creating a subtle point of contrast and connection. Golden elements wrap around the sculptural surfaces in restrained lines, a recurring gesture in Helena’s work that speaks to compression, preservation, and adornment.
