SELFRIDGES

20 January – 23 March 2025
Selfridges, 400 Oxford St, London

Conceived as a sequence of ‘Rooms of House of Bandits’, the nine-week takeover of Selfridges’ Lower Ground Floor guided visitors through a series of interconnected retail and exhibition spaces showcasing over 400 original artworks by more than 90 artists and makers.

The project presented a curated selection of one-of-a-kind artworks, limited editions and exclusive products including a special shirt by Thom Browne, a T-shirt featuring a design by Jake Chapman and a sweatshirt by Sarabande alumnus Craig Green. An extensive public programme of talks, artist workshops and special events nurtured discovery and conversation, and specially designed window displays extended the experience beyond the floor.

The pop-up gives the public a chance to witness the posthumous effect of McQueen’s creativity on subsequent generations and to own pieces by them — whether that’s a tea-towel for £15 or £19,000 for a ring by Shola Branson.
